Pros • Offers extra securely for high risk cabinets • When locked cabinets will not open at all which reduces the chance of pinched fingers  • Key will stick to refrigerator door to prevent its loss • Can be temporarily disengaged (a nice feature if using in grandparents' homes)

Cons • Not for use on metal cabinets or drawers  • More challenging to install than traditional latches

Tips from pediatricians • The catch must be mounted on a horizontal surface with the latch positioned as shown in the pictures above.  • This lock comes with instructions for mounting using adhesive only but we ALWAYS recommend using this latch with screws for maximum safety.
